About

Comic Book Sunday! (CBS!) was founded in LA in March of 2008 by Benjamin Jackendoff with Jim Krueger.  The club has expanded to almost 1,000 members nationwide.  What was conceived on a hike on Runyon Canyon when Ben asked Jim about hanging out to read some rare comics  has now turned into a huge monthly party in both LA and now Philadelphia!

Originally dreamed up by Ben to be a roving book club bridging the gap of film execs and comic book creatives, CBS! has turned into the ultimate meeting for like-minded individuals.  A place where creative endeavors are fostered and relationships are kindled, CBS! is a catch-all for the swirling mass of information that buzzes throughout entertainment.  From fifteen people on the original email list to now a party that spans the coasts with CBS! Philly, the gathering is friendly, exciting and invigorating.  The group consists of people coming from all walks of the comic, movie, and video game worlds ranging from those just starting out to seasoned veterans.

As the group continues to grow we’ll be looking to bring exclusive content from all of our creator friends, publishers, as well as film pals and the gaming community too.

So stay tuned for podcasts, festivals, and links to all things cool in these spaces!!!

Welcome to the Nerd-olution.  Come on in and stay a while!

    Hi there, CBS!

We came across your nice shout out about Kristen Koerner Simon, Comics Pipeline’s website, and Ben Templesmith’s involvement. We just wanted to say thanks!

If there’s any desire to do/ a follow-up write-up regarding the site, the creators involved, or the founders for Pipeline, please email me and I would be more than eager to set that up with any images, quotes, Q&As, and creator content. If you would like, I can also set up a coupon code to allow you a more in-depth look at what some of the creators are doing on Comics Pipeline.

I am unsure if CBS! will be at Chicago’s C2E2 show, but Comics Pipeline will have a booth near DC and we can potentially chat at the show.

We would just like to thank you for your recognition of the site on your website and do anything we can if you would like to do any type of follow-up.

    Sincerely,

    – Jason Simon

      Hi Jason!
Really nice site you’ve got there with Comics Pipeline. I’d definitely be interested in doing a little showcase on the site and what it’s all about etc.

I’ll find you on facebook and we can exchange emails and talk more!

      Best
      Ben
